At the moment I code websites and iPhone apps from a MacBook Air.
For websites, I use Aptana as my IDE, coding PHP, Javascript, jQuery, CSS, MySQL. For iPhone apps, the beautiful Cocoa Touch and Objective-C. I also do a bit of graphics using GIMP, nothing professional or artistic, but I get by…
Once a coder, always a coder…
I’ve been coding for 22 years and wouldn’t change my job for the world. I’ve worked with start-ups, small businesses, medium sized businesses and blue chip multi-nationals.
I started coding on the road about 12 years ago. I have spent long periods working from offices during this time.
My base is Spain but I code from wherever I can find an Internet connection. I travel as much as time, money and work will allow.
WordPress?
So, if I’m a coder, why have I used WordPress instead of coding my own blog?
An old saying about coders comes to mind…
“good coders code, great coders reuse”
My blogging time is limited, I find no reason to recode what is already out there…
I set this whole blog up from scratch in less than half a day, which gives me more time to write the articles and code my other systems.
